I-Tel Group has been Welcome Break‘s longstanding operational support partner, providing procurement, design and production, warehousing, and logistical support.
Since the beginning of our relationship in 2020, we have integrated Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives as a core component, resulting in thousands of pounds raised for charities and good causes, which has been rewarding for everyone involved.
In 2023, Welcome Break launched the “Welcome Break Charitable Fund” to support local and national charities and grants for community projects to support causes significant to their teams and customers.
“We launched the Welcome Break Charitable Fund to make a tangible difference in the communities we serve,” said Julie Feazey for Welcome Break. “The operational support from I-Tel Group has been invaluable, enabling us to dedicate our efforts entirely to our mission of giving back.”
I-Tel Group has played an active role in supporting the operational management of the Welcome Break Charitable Fund. Our contributions include design, procurement, print management, storage and distribution, and ideation and prototype services, all aimed at raising awareness and promoting engagement and contributions to the fund among Welcome Break’s customers.
MacIntyre, another long-standing client of I-Tel Group, is a leading national charity creating inclusive and welcoming neighbourhoods where people with learning disabilities and autistic people can contribute, connect, and lead fulfilling lives. They provide learning, support, and care for more than 1,400 children, young people, and adults with learning disabilities and/or autism across England and Wales.
Across the social care setting there are challenges with recruitment and staff retention. As budgets become more constrained and limitations on expenditure more prevalent, organisations are looking for other ways to connect with their workforce and retain talent.
I-Tel Group works closely with the leadership teams to develop and initiate programmes that align with the organisation’s values, goals, and aspirations. Macintyre, like many third sector operations, has a large, fragmented workforce. To connect and build continuity it’s essential to have a programme of engagement from the beginning of their journey.
Recognising your employees, especially in this arena is essential. Many see their work as vocational but appreciation and fostering a sense of belonging is key. Ensuring staff feel valued and have a voice nurtures loyalty and pride in their work.
For this project we showcased the power of collaboration further by involving Dragons Den winners “Stand Out Socks”. This amazing social enterprise, which focuses on increasing the awareness of Down syndrome, produces customised socks that exude vibrancy, audacity, and a dash of eccentricity. By including the socks in Macintyre’s New Starter packs, we yet again increase the social value chain culminating in a staff engagement project, part financed by corporate partners, highlighting two incredibly good causes and opening up multiple opportunities for future collaboration.A big thank you to Julia, Josh, and Vicki from the Welcome Break Charitable Fund, Seb Moh, Quality & People Director for Macintyre, and Oliver, Christian. Mark, Natalie, Jodie, Martha and Ross from Stand Out Socks.
Mel Gauci, Managing Director of I-Tel Group, emphasises the impact of these collaborations: “Our partnership with Welcome Break and our involvement with The Welcome Break Charitable Fund has been a cornerstone of our commitment to CSR. We are proud to have supported numerous initiatives that raise funds, foster community spirit, and connect people to events and causes that matter. It’s a testament to what we can achieve when we align our operations with our social values.”
I-Tel Group takes enormous pride in supporting these organisations and we look forward to growing and developing this social value chain to support both corporates and charitable organisations across the UK.
