With an annual turnover of £630 million and a workforce of 5,000 employees spread across 83 sites, Welcome Break is committed to maintaining a robust employee recognition program that resonates with its diverse team.
Welcome Break approached I-Tel Group with the need for an innovative employee recognition initiative in time for the Christmas season. The challenge was multifaceted: the existing market solutions for Christmas hampers were not only prohibitively expensive but also impersonal. Moreover, the volume required and the tight timeline added complexity to sourcing suitable items for a 5,000-strong workforce.

Our solution

I-Tel Group proposed a tailored solution to design and deliver bespoke Christmas hampers that would align with Welcome Break’s brand and meet their budgetary constraints. Despite challenges in sourcing equal numbers of each item due to the large volume and tight deadlines, I-Tel managed to create appealing, varied hampers that included specialised gifts like a chocolate-filled, branded Christmas bauble. The initiative was well-received and set the foundation for further bespoke projects, including Easter hampers and sourcing charitable items such as Pudsey Bears for retail sales and custom charity buckets.

The results

The custom hampers were a success, leading to an expanded collaboration between Welcome Break and I-Tel Group.

 

The projects evolved to include not just seasonal hampers but also a range of bespoke gifts and charitable fundraising items, enhancing employee morale and engagement.
